PPC Agency Management

Pay per click (PPC) management can be a bit of a minefield. Anyone can set up a Google Ads account and get a PPC campaign running, but very few are able to truly maximise the potential of pay per click as a viable advertising channel. At our multi-award winning PPC management agency in Liverpool, our team have a wealth of agency and in-house PPC experience under their belts, working with everything from local businesses to considerable, international scale budgets for some of the biggest companies in the world.

Whilst we’re a fully Google certified PPC agency, our pay per click expertise doesn’t stop at just Google. Our service covers a multitude of paid search platforms including Google Ads, Google Shopping, Bing, Yandex.direct and Baidu. We also offer paid search services on other platforms such as paid social media advertising and retargeting, which are typically run on a CPM, or ‘cost per mille’, model rather than pay per click.

Every PPC campaign is completely tailored to each individual client following our signature process. We offer full PPC management, so all of your PPC ad copy, landing pages and any creative assets are completely taken care of for you, meaning all there is for you to do is to watch the results come in through either increased sales or more enquiries for your business.

Whether your website is ecommerce or enquiry based, the visitors being driven to your website through PPC should be highly targeted and qualified through in depth keyword research. Our aim with any of our PPC campaigns is to provide solid return on investment and increased revenue, and a thorough grounding in keyword research alongside an unrivalled understanding of pay per click platforms allows us to consistently achieve this for Coolmedia Marketing clients.

Google Ads Options

With each passing year there are more and more options when it comes to pay per click advertising on Google. The aim is clear, to get people on to paid advertising rather than enabling them to rank organically – by gradually shifting organic results further and further down page 1 and expanding the Google Ads section, they are effectively forcing you to advertise. Here we will have a look at some of the most popular forms of Google advertising as well as which ones are most beneficial, using our experience as a PPC Agency here in Liverpool.

  • Search Ads – This is the oldest but still most popular form of PPC, the text based ads you will see directly underneath your Google search box. Often there are 3-4 ads at the top of the page followed by local map listings, organic results and then 2-3 further ads at the bottom of the page. When it comes to e-commerce these ads aren’t the best, particularly if you aren’t one of the industries big boys i.e. an ASOS. They do however suit service/enquiry based businesses much more and tend to perform well. If you are working in a very competitive sector e.g. gambling/betting or insurance then you can expect eye wateringly high cost per click rates such as £58 for “casino bonus” or “casino online” at £74.
  • Google Shopping Ads – These ads run across the top of your results page in a preview format but appear in full when a user clicks on the ‘Shopping’ tab on Google. These ads have a small picture, text and price displayed on each advert making them ideal for e-commerce sites to sell their products. They can be difficult to set up as a live feed from your website needs creating and connecting to Google Merchant Centre, once this is done though your shopping feed will auto update every day (or hour or week) with any price/stock availability changes. Google Shopping Ads tend to be much cheaper than the traditional text based PPC ads and are therefore far more suited to fashion brands – the other benefit is that these ads allow for a lot more optimisation in terms of how descriptive your descriptions are and which keywords are used in titles.
  • Local Search Ads – If you’ve ever performed a local search such as PPC Agency Liverpool, then you’ll know you see a map pack appear in the Google search results (normally with 3 listings on), if you then click on ‘More’ you’ll be taken to the maps page with a much longer list of results on it, here you will see that the top 2 or 3 results are ‘Sponsored’ i.e. Google Ads. This is a good way to get local visibility but the vast majority of people don’t click on ‘More’ and only look at the 3 results they see on the results page so in all likelihood the number of impressions you’ll get with your campaign will be low but it will perform at a low CPC and generate positive results (even if they might be small).
  • YouTube Advertising – This is an area that is particularly popular with fashion clients and those wishing to focus a bit more on brand awareness. There are quite a few options when it comes to advertising on YouTube from text ads at the bottom of a video to the short video ads before the video you want to watch starts and annotated product ads. The most popular option is the short video with products featured in the ad tagged and appearing underneath. With YouTube advertising you need to go in to it expecting not to get a great number of sales directly from it but focus more on how it fits in to your overall marketing strategy.

Google Ads (Formerly AdWords)

Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) is the text based advertising you will find at the top of a search results page. Google Ads are marked by a green ‘Ad’ symbol and enable you to show instantly at the top of Google for keywords of your choice. Dependent upon the sector you are in, the cost per click can range anywhere from 1p to £75 (in the case of gambling and insurance sectors).

There are many ways to lower the cost per click (CPC) of an advert, much of which revolves around your ‘quality score’. Our PPC team know exactly what Google wants to see for relevancy and can ensure you campaign is running as efficiently as it possibly can.
